Routes >>The
N2 and KZN Coast (Kwa-Zulu Natal)
The
Kwa-Zulu Natal coastline is a stretch
of one holiday town after the other.
Warm waters, lush vegetation and glorious
sunny days make this a popular destination
with locals and tourists alike. The
N2 follows the coastline from Margate
in the South and travels through Port
Shepstone, Melville and Pennington
to Scottburgh and Amanzimtoti before
reaching Durban.
This stretch is traditionally known
as South Coast although the area
from Scottburgh to Port Edward near
the Eastern Cape border is also
called the Hibiscus Coast. North
from Durban the N2 continues to
Umhlanga and Ballito making up the
North Coast section and even further
northwards, the area is referred
to as the Dolphin Coast.
The entire coastline is geared
towards holidaymakers with plenty
of activities, attractions and entertainment
for the whole family. Generally
the North coast is quieter and more
untamed whereas the South coast
is more trendy and is busy over
holiday periods. Durban also has
plenty to offer including Waterworld
and Seaworld and many cultural outings.
