Travel Routes >> The N2 and Sunshine Coast (Eastern Cape)
The N2 through the Eastern Cape follows the coastline as far as Port Elizabeth, and then travels inland and passes through Grahamstown and on to East London. Branching off from the N2, the R72 hugs the coastline and passes through the seaside towns of Cannon Rocks, Kenton-on-Sea, Port Alfred and Kidds Beach before reaching East London.

This stretch of coastline is known as the Sunshine Coast and offers countless opportunities for malaria free game viewing in a host of private game reserves and national parks, kilometres of sandy beaches, outdoor activities from hiking and fishing to 4x4 trails and horseriding - all beneath the glorious South African sun.

Prior to Port Elizabeth, the N2 passes through the lush Kouga region incorporating the Langkloof - known as the Valley of a Thousand Vistas - as well as the popular coastal resorts of Cape St Francis, St Francis Bay and the ever popular surfers paradise of Jeffreys Bay. Here warm waters and long stretches of white sandy beaches create a holiday paradise.
