Routes >> The
West Coast and N7 (Western Cape)
Travelling
northwards from Cape Town brings you
to the West Coast Region. The N7 from
Cape Town travels via the wheatlands
of Malmesbury and Mooreesburg to the
citrus producing regions of Citrusdal
and Clanwilliam at the foot of the
Cedarberg mountains.
Hugging the coastline, the R27
travels to Yzerfontein then on to
Churchhaven and Langebaan. These
are favourites amongst families
and watersports enthusiasts due
to their location on a sheltered
lagoon as well as being on the doorstep
of the West Coast National Park
- renowned for its birdlife, wild
flowers and wetlands.
Further afield are the rugged coastal
towns of Saldanha, Elandsbaai and
Lamberts Bay - these are popular
holiday spots and are well known
for fresh seafood, surfing and West
Coast charm and hospitality.
The West Coast region is famous
for its dazzling display of wild
flowers in Spring each year.
